Brenda's paintings, prints and cards

Hi, thanks for visiting me.
The paintings on these pages are representative of my work, but
do please contact me to find out more.
Lively, vital, colourful and gently humorous, my paintings are
inspired by the people and places around me.
I have no special theme, although I am known for my un-pc large
ladies and my nuns having fun. But I have put them aside for the
time being and am currently painting a series of Cornish harbour
scenes. Loosely based on holiday photos, they rely on a lot of
imagination.
Acrylics are my preferred medium, they are so versatile and
immediate. I also use watercolour and pen and ink, choosing my
medium according to my mood and the mood I want to convey.
I trained as an illustrator, so there is always the urge to tell a
story in the painting. But not a complete story - there is always
room for imagination.
I live in rural Northamptonshire and work in a small studio in my
home. Frequently exhibiting in Northamptonshire and the
surrounding counties, my work is in collections not only in the UK,
but in the USA and Germany.
